Northern California Wildfire Relief

As many of you may know by now, twenty-two fast-moving wildfires have burned more than 170,000 acres in Northern California. The fires have devastated the region; destroying thousands of homes and killing at least 21 people. Since Joanna’s Nannies is headquartered in Northern California, we are currently closed but are passionate about helping those in our community who have been affected by the fires. For those looking to provide wildfire relief to families and communities in need, below you will find some opportunities to provide support.

If You Live in the Area

One unique way to provide wildfire relief (or to find it) is through Airbnb. Through this site, hosts can offer free housing to evacuees, and relief workers or those needing shelter can find a place to stay. Additionally, the food pantries in Napa County, Yuba County, and Sonoma County are accepting donations for families in need as part of the wildfire relief efforts. Finally, we believe it is critical to mention that there are tons of pets and animals that have been adversely affected by all that has happened. Fostering a pet that has been evacuated not only provides relief to shelters that are overcrowded but gives a home to a pet in need. Check out the list of shelters from NBC Bay Area.

If You Live Somewhere Else

While you may not be able to directly contribute to the wildfire relief efforts lifted above, there are numerous options for getting money directly into these vulnerable communities. Click on the links below to learn more about these special opportunities that exist.
